Use the exact match tool when;
- Rather than using fuzzy match logic to group a set of pages together, you might prefer to use an exact match formula.
- If you have a list of distinctive words which define a specific category of pages on your website then exact matching would make sense.
- For example, If “credit-card” is subfolder 1 for all of your credit card pages, you can group these URLs as “credit-card” pages by using the exact match formula
- be aware, exact matching string is case sensitive (Credit card will not match credit card).
- If any URL subfolder path contains “credit-card” should also be included, e.g. “/blog/best-credit-card-use-abroad” use the fuzzy match formula instead.
- Exact match is useful when consolidating list of entities, like URLs, against a definitive list of words to define them.
